145. JOB HUNTING TIPS - Jack’s Japa Empowerment - Nijaa Diaspora Empowerment - Baba Londoner - Empowering Immigrants - Immigrant Empowerment - Wise Words For Immigrants - Jack Lookman - Rita Nnamani - Olayinka Carew - Japa Empowerment - Empowerment And Inspiration - Nigerian Immigrants - Empowering And Inspiring Generations - Nijaa To United Kingdom - Jack Lookman Limited - Nijaa To London - Baba London - Japa

Finding a job in the UK might be one of the most difficult tasks for immigrants. The procedure is well-organised, competitive, and even irritating. However, with the appropriate strategy, you can successfully navigate it. Job hunting is more than just mailing CVs; it's about strategy, presentation, and perseverance. Nigerians who grasp this will advance faster than those who rely just on effort.

Digital Employment Coach And Facilitator

The first tip is to improve your CV. UK businesses prefer brief, tailored resumes over extended stories. Highlight accomplishments, not just responsibilities. Use terms that correspond to the job description. A generic CV will get lost in the mix, whereas a specialised one will stand out. Do not copy and paste for every job. Adjust for each position. Presentation is just as essential as information here.

Online Employment Coach

The second tip is to network. Many jobs aren't publicly advertised. They are filled based on referrals and recommendations. Create relationships on LinkedIn, visit job fairs, join professional groups, and notify others that you are available. Your network can open doors that a CV alone cannot. Never underestimate the value of community, especially online. Visibility is important.

The next tip is to be persistent. Rejection is natural. You may apply for dozens of positions before receiving a response. Do not let this discourage you. Keep applying, learning, and adapting your method. Every rejection is feedback. If you aren't receiving interviews, your resume needs to be improved. If you aren't obtaining job offers, you should work on your interview abilities. View the process as training rather than punishment.

The fourth tip is to think of stepping stones. Your first employment may not be your ideal job, but it might serve as a starting point. Accept roles that will provide you UK experience, even if they aren't perfect. Better prospects arise as you establish a track record. Employers value local experience. Finally, improve your skills while hunting. Take short courses, earn certificates, and enhance your profile. Employers notice applicants who are always developing.

And finally, utilise the services of an Employment Coach as necessary. The money invested, could save a lot of time and other resources. A successful outcome could also be achieved quicker.

144. IS JAPA AN EGO LEVELLER? Jack’s Japa Empowerment - Nijaa Diaspora Empowerment - Baba Londoner - Empowering Immigrants - Immigrant Empowerment - Wise Words For Immigrants - Jack Lookman - Rita Nnamani - Olayinka Carew - Japa Empowerment - Empowerment And Inspiration - Nigerian Immigrants - Empowering And Inspiring Generations - Nijaa To United Kingdom - Jack Lookman Limited - Nijaa To London - Baba London - Japa

Many Nigerians wear Japa with pride, chest high, feeling they have "made it." However, the reality of life abroad tends to humble people. Japa swiftly stripped his ego. A big man from Lagos may arrive in London and find himself cleaning offices at night. A graduate with a first-class degree may start stacking shelves. The titles you held at home mean little here until you prove yourself again. In that way, Japa is a powerful ego leveller.

Jack Lookman Limited

This levelling is not intended to humiliate you, but rather to reset you. What matters abroad is what you bring to the table, not who you were at home. Nobody cares whether you drive a Prado or sit in boardrooms. The system does not bend for your past accomplishments. You must restart, sometimes from the very bottom. This teaches humility. If you resist, you will suffer. If you embrace it, you will grow.

Ego-levelling also displays character. Some people shrink when their status markers are removed; whilst others adapt and rebuild. Japa forces you to consider whether you genuinely have substance or if it was all for show. Can you live without applause, without people calling you ‘boss’, and without the security of familiar power? Those who rebuild with humility eventually rise higher, while those clinging to ego remain bitter and stagnant.

It also serves as a reminder that in the UK, respect is earned differently. The person you dislike today may be the one who helps you tomorrow. Systems here are unconcerned with tribe, family name, or fortune back home. They value consistency, honesty, and skill. Ego collapses when the playing field is levelled. That can be uncomfortable, but it's also liberating. You are forced to define yourself based on who you are, rather than the cacophony around you.

So, certainly, Japa is an ego-leveller. However, it also provides an opportunity to build on truth. If you let go of false pride and accept humility, you will be able to progress faster than you thought possible.
