Apart from experiencing redundancy twice, in my career; Some of my colleagues were recently made redundant.
As observers to the redundant workers, we react to situations differently. Some will play the blame game; some will be sympathetic; some will offer practical support; some will offer words of wisdom; some will quietly observe; some will give parting gifts; and for some, it’s the end of the relationship with the colleague who’s been made redundant.
As a Content Creator with an Engineering background; I decided to embark on an unusual journey, as a parting gift to my colleagues; as well as to those who may be made redundant or those threatened with redundancy in the present or future.
This is what birthed ‘Jack’s Redundancy Empowerment.’
The content was originally targeted at redundant workers in the United Kingdom, but as time progressed, the content became increasingly relevant to redundant and non-redundant workers, inside and outside the United Kingdom.
At Jack Lookman Limited, Our mission is to Empower and Inspire Generations by leveraging the Internet.
It’s my intention to share true-to-life experiences, both direct and indirect; with the hope of adding value to the worker made redundant, those at threat of redundancy, those seeking side hustles, and those seeking alternatives to paid employment.
In my opinion, redundancy isn’t all doom and gloom. It’s sometimes an opportunity to reach greater heights if well managed.
