16. MAINTAINING AN ORGANISED WORKSPACE - Becoming Organised - Jack’s Empowerment and Inspiration - Jack Lookman - Rita Nnamani - Ire o

 16. MAINTAINING AN ORGANISED WORKSPACE

Your workstation has a significant impact on your general well-being, productivity, and focus.  While an orderly workspace facilitates clear thinking and productive work, a disorganised workstation can make it more difficult to focus.  Whether you work in an office, from home, or in a public area, maintaining a neat and organised workspace can improve your daily workflow and reduce stress.

Declutter your workstation first.  Anything that is not useful should be removed.  Sort your personal belongings, office supplies, and papers into three categories: things you use frequently, things you need every day, and things you can store somewhere else.  If something isn’t needed or helpful, think about throwing it away or finding a better home for it.  A clear desk enhances mental clarity, which makes it simpler to concentrate on your tasks without interruptions.

Organise your workstation well after decluttering.  Keep necessities close at hand; areas should be set out for your computer, notebook, pens, and frequently used documents.  Shelves, storage bins, and drawer organisers can all help keep things organised.  When your workstation is organised, you’ll spend more time working and less time looking for items.

Establishing daily and weekly routines is the greatest approach to keep your workstation organised.  To start again the next morning, take a few minutes at the end of each day to clean your desk.  Do a deeper clean at the end of each week by wiping off surfaces, organising files, and getting rid of anything that is not needed.  You may establish a work atmosphere that increases productivity, reduces stress, and improves your overall efficiency, by making organisation a habit rather than an occasional effort.
