This simple but profound question has troubled many individuals, both immigrants and natives. Is it too late to fulfil my dreams? Is it too late to correct my mistakes? Is it too late to start over? The worry of being too late might paralyse you, but in truth, tardiness is frequently a question of perception. You may not be where you wanted to be, but that doesn't mean your time is up.
Consider this: time flows differently for everyone. Some attain success in their twenties, while others do it in their fifties and even some, in their eighties. Some people accumulate fortune quickly, while others develop a legacy later. Being "late" only matters if you're judging yourself against someone else's clock. As long as you are alive, you are on time. The important thing is to recognise your season and maximise it. If you spend your years comparing, you will miss your own window of opportunity.
It is equally crucial to recognise that lateness does not imply impossibility. Yes, some doors may have shut, but new ones can open. You may not be a young footballer at forty five, but you may still coach, invest, or leave a new legacy. The goal is to adjust your perspective from what is no longer viable to what is still feasible. That shift alters everything.
Furthermore, being late often results in wisdom. The mistakes you regret can teach you and others, how to avoid repeating those cycles. What you think you've lost in time; you can regain through experience. Late bloomers can occasionally achieve greater, longer-term success than early starters. Do not despise your own timing; rather, embrace it.
So, is it too late? The only time it is truly late is when life itself has ended. Until then, there is always another chance, another path, another opportunity. Do not let fear of lateness rob you of the joy of progress. Start where you are, and let your own timing be enough.
